Landlord's handyman died

I've been in the property three months and it suits me very well, I'd like to be there for a while. The landlord is managing it herself no agent but it's all a standard letting agreement no issue.
A couple of the internal doors don't fit properly, if it was a normal modern house I would sort it myself but it's a listed building and hundreds of photos of it's condition were taken when I moved in. As it's all old dark stained timber frames I don't want to start planing doors, changing the patina etc.
The landlord has apologised for a slow response but says it's because their handyman and best friend died.....
And the Landlord is now asking me for recommendations for a carpenter......
For a start no I don't know anyone, and even if I did why would I take responsibility for recommending someone?
I can just see all this coming back to bite me in future if I get involved?

Yes, but that doesn't help me get my doors fixed, it's been two weeks since I asked the Landlord.I mean, how dare she put your ill fitting doors at a lower priority than mourning the loss of her best friend, even daring to ask you if you knew a simple solution that could help you both?

sounds horrendous. I've owned a couple of listed buildings including living in one for 20 years. Also most of my current neighbours are living in listed buildings.
Provided it's grade 2 which I expected is then I don't think anybody would bother getting listed building consent for making the doors fit properly. They would just crack on with the work.
These days the council conservation department barely have enough staff to come out and look at a building when required let alone find anything that has changed when they haven't been told about it.

You could recommend a carpenter if you knew one. Whether the landlord hires them or not is up to the landlord. You want a problem fixed, they asked for help, can you help fix your problem? No, and even if you could, you'd be too fearful to.

Unless the doors are so poorly fitting that they are dangerous I am not sure if the landlord is really obliged to do anything. If it is a Listed Building then the hassle of getting approval for the works possibly outweighs the benefit to the landlord.

True, it is not unusual for a Listed Building to also be a listing Listed Building.
My house is not listed but quite old but the house does move with the seasons, a couple of doors start sticking during the winter and become free again in the spring. Problem is whenever I get round to doing it (and weather gets good enough for me to get the doors outside and plane off one side) they free themselves again and I forget all about the problem till winter again!
