Hi
I’ve got 2 bedrooms with lined curtains in. Metal washers in the hems , the usual for 20 years ago. Been hanging up for over 10 years. I reckon they could do with a clean.
One curtain would be too big for my washing machine.
Taking them out and “carpet beating” them would probably be a good start to get dust out.

So what’s my best bet to get them done?

Or, now we live in modern times, are curtains a bit passé now? What could be used instead (that actually keep light out)

Thanks all.

A b&q near us has a self service laundry on the same estate and I’ve noticed it has a large washer , it could be an option but I’ll agree with the above posts , I washed mine the we inherited with the house and they shrank .

Yes dry clean. It’s pricey though but if it’s been that long and they’re visibly dirty, well worth it.
