flat roof to angled?

what sort of cost is involved in getting a single garage changed from a felt flat roof to angled or even adding in slate? seems it would solve alot of long term maintainence issues and insulate better?
You’d probably be better off price wise keeping the roof flat but using something like Restec Flexitec (I’m in the roofing trade and we sell buckets of it for exactly this purpose and it’s great) as a roof waterproofing membrane instead of felt. It can withstand standing water (unlike felt) and as long as it’s laid correctly will last around 20 years. If the existing substrate is not completely rotten you might even be able to just clean it, then prime it, and go straight over the top with flexitec without needing to remove the felt.
Leaky flat roofs are a thing of the past now with modern liquid membrane waterproofing. Speak to a roofer, but unless you’re thinking of developing the roof space then this would probably be the best option.

A lot of comments based on no experience here .
Care to give an experienced one for me then?Planning , gable structure, expense. You can have trusses pre made, which would make install a lot simpler. If you were reasonably handy at diy, it’s not that difficult.
There are enough decent membranes about now to give you comfort. A lot of blue roofs have felt as the waterproofing, which gives you an indication of their robustness, but again, premium is expensive. I currently have a project where I’m paying £120 for a 7.5 m2 roll of mineral.
And the comment about a 25 year warranty for single ply is just , well, b
