MK Sockets withdrawn from market
Discussion
Seen a few comments here recently about MK having dropped in quality and happened across this https://www.gov.uk/product-safety-alerts-reports-r...
Risk of arc flash if socket switched off under load, product withdrawn from sale. If you have any, might be worth checking, just in case.

The bad stuff says it was made in China, do they still make stuff in Southend?
Must be well over a decade ago, but everything got offloaded abroad hence quality dropping. My good friend still works in MK Southend (his only job!), and he personally made every switch and plug in my house except the kitchen for me!

Ah, didn't see that one, didn't mean to double up, apologies.Mr Whippy said:
Yikes.
I can only assume also a fire hazard?
Doesn’t say that though does it.I can only assume also a fire hazard?
Hazard: The product presentsa risk of minor burns, as it has been identified that when the switch on the socket is being switched on, or switched off, whilst it is under load, there is a possibility for an arc flash to occur, for milliseconds.
