Outdoor permanent LED eaves lights
Discussion
I'd seen a few videos on tik tok, mostly of American houses, with these configurable permanent outdoor eaves lights and thought they looked awesome. Decided to give a set a go and I think they look brilliant! Infinitely configurable in the app with loads of presets already built in...can leave them up all year and just set to a nice warm white and just every 2nd or 3rd lamp to mimic traditional downlighters.
They came with 3M sticky pads, but the lights also have lugs for screws so I put them in too to make sure they stay up.
I've got them plugged into an outdoor socket up by my eaves. Max run is 45m, I needed 60m so I installed 2 x30m sets going opposite directions from the front left corner of my house. The dynamic scenes are really cool and a bit of an upgrade from string leds or icicle lights for Christmas!

Trying to compete with next door eh?
Lol, not at all. I really like next doors conventional downlighters. I just wanted something a bit different for Christmas...if I don't like them all I've wasted is a few hundred quid and a weekend. Interested to see fellow ph'rs opinions though. Fully expecting a few "council" comments!
I live in a village without streetlights. A house lit up like that would stand out from 5 miles away.
Because we have no streetlights we have 11 of the 17 uk species of bats, 3 types of owl and deer in the garden. In a suburban location, I guess it would matter less.
Light pollution is a thing and I think we should do all we can to prevent it.
The US uses more electricity in a day than Somalia has used in 50 years. Thinks like unnecessary lighting play their part.

We’ve got motion sensitive LED security lights on our house…some of which seem to have a life of their own. I can confirm from the recent bat survey (and the cost of finding them new homes when doing work to our roof) that bats can cope with local light pollution very well. Deer don’t mind it too much either. Because we have no streetlights we have 11 of the 17 uk species of bats, 3 types of owl and deer in the garden. Yeah but if you did have them, you'd have cheap beer from a FRP (flat roof pub), and strategically and conveniently placed front garden sofas, for the weary traveller to rest their tired feet on return from the FRP.Because we have no streetlights we have 11 of the 17 uk species of bats, 3 types of owl and deer in the garden. I like them! We have something similar.
However, is that some kind of substation in your front garden? I presume its not just to run your down lighters?
Yeah, it's an electrical substation, just outside the boundary of my house. The house was built on land that the electric company owned. Never bothered us...don't hear a peep from it and pretty well fenced off from my side so as not to be an eyesore when looking out the window.
