How do I break into my bog?

New bathroom fitted last year but wasn’t around to see them fit this bit. It’s well noisy and I want to either turn the pressure down or put some sound deadening in of some sort.

Assuming it involves the flush button but then what?

The top panel should just prise off,it will be attached with clips.

Agreed, use some plastic trim panel tools, or wrap a flat head screwdriver in electrical tape, then prise out.

I have one similar to that, and it's held in with nylon clips.

You need to get a hook round the edge of the panel and ease it off.

If you can't do that, you may be able to unscrew/prise out the flush button, and get your fingers in the hole to pull the panel.

Before you prise out the top panel ( I'm assuming folks are referring to the top BLUE panel...... )

Unscrew the flush button & surround first, many of them are threaded into the flush mechanism and levering the panel off before checking this may prove expensive / annoying / wet

You shouldn't need to take the button's off, they are generally connected to a length of hose, that will come with the panel.

Don't hit the crowbar too hard or you might chip the panel.

Bear in mind if tempted to undo the button; if you fail to gain access & give up on it you'll have a lot of fun trying to re tighten the nut on the back with no access.

I'd use a suction lifter to pull the panel instead of prying it.

I had to replace the float and filler on ours the other week and the only way into the cistern was to remove the silicon and remove the shelf.

We don’t have any removable panels like the OP so that might not be necessary in their situation.

There is that, mine was built with the intention of any service access being through the top, though that was a one piece front panel. And even then if desperate the pan could be removed then the panel would slide forward off its support brackets.

Looks the same as ours. Two plastic fittings, male on the panel, female on the inner sides. Either clips in or holds by friction. Lever at either end with a plastic trim tool and it will pop out.

You could try pushing the flush button in, hook your fingers inside and pull gently to get it started.
