roof tile algae problem

I have a south facing back garden. Front of house therefore gets very little direct sunlight and the tiles have a tendency to grow algae/moss.
Best solution for this? Is there a recommended coating/protector that can be applied?

A very common issue, in so much as is it actually is an issue.
The only way to go is to carefully scrape it off from time to time. A copper tape along the ridge is said to help but I've never seen any firm evidence that it actually works. I'm not aware of any coatings that help - but please don't be persuaded by a band of happy go lucky fellas in a transit offering to pressure wash and then 'seal' your roof. It always ends badly.

exactly the same issue with our place, just had this work done.
Was recommend by a few people including 2 builder mates with no skin in the game to not get anyone out who would pressure wash the tiles on the roof, as it's far too easy to damage them.
Got a company in who hand brushed all the moss off and did a cracking job, 4 days it took them.
They did offer to "spray with moss prevention chemical" but at an extra
of £££ and only lasts 2 years.
Will be spraying it each year via a long pole with herbicide moss killer. £30 will make up enough to do the roof each year job done.

Are you doing it yourself? A long handled floor scraper to get the bulk of the moss off, then spray with BAC 50.
If the moss is really thick, put down some tarps to catch it, it goes everywhere! Check your gutters a few months afterwards, what you don’t remove mechanically is killed by the biocide and gets washed down into them, sometimes blocking the outlets.

I use this - spray it on with a telescopic pole. No need to get up on the roof / brush / scrape etc.
