Due to a miss communication between me and our builder we have ended up with a 4.3m span between driveway pillars. Due to a sloping driveway, children, balls and go karts we need gates more then we thought. Same slope prevents sliding gates.

However the slope causes issues... It prevents two inward opening gates due to the slope rising quite steeply on the right hand side. Left hand side is much shallower. We can't open outwards due to crossing boundary to road.

Having spent a few sleepiness nights thinking of options, im seeking advice/recommendations on midlands based gate supply and Installers.

My current idea is a 4m span ally gate slated to reduce weight, with the bottom angled from 0cm down to 30cm to enable it to clear the slope as it open onwards. My initial measurements suggest this would work... Albeit it when closed it would have that 0 to 30cm angle along the bottom.

First company I spoke to said their limit was a 3m span... And he couldn't think of a way around it other then breaking it into 3m and 1m pedestrian gate... Which I'd prefer to avoid!.

Google ‘rising hinges’ and speak to some other suppliers/installers. They can be spendy as some utilise hydraulics.

What about a folding gate 2 gates with a central hinge would leave you with only 1m and change either side.

Brother makes gates so I've just WhatsApp'd him. He reckons you want to find someone that installs telescopic sliding gates. He's based in Scotland so can't directly help!
