Heat pump and EV charger installation
Discussion
I'm booked in for a heat pump installation to replace an ageing oil boiler. I've had the heat loss survey done, but not the pre-install visit. Should be done just after Christmas. 6kw unit.
I've also bought an EV, delivery due in January.
My question is about the electrical connections to my CU/meter, both of which are in the middle of the house inside a cupboard in the "pantry".
I know that EV chargers generally get wired up to the meter tails with Henly blocks and a separate CU. Do heat pumps get connected the same way?
If so, could both be connected to the same small CU?
The heat pump will be on the side wall of the integral garage, with the charger on the front wall. Best cabling route will be via the loft space (dormer bungalow) and dropping down inside the garage.
Could a single feed from the meter be run into the garage, then split using a 2 gang CU to feed the heat pump and charger?
