Where do you buy your windows and doors?
Discussion
Years ago we used Colins Sash, and they were excellent. It suited our victorian terraced.
We've now bought a mid century and going for a different look - slim aluminium frame.

We've now bought a mid century and going for a different look - slim aluminium frame.
Kitchen:
- 1x standard window over a kitchen counter (1m wide, x high).
- 1x one metre wide patio door
- 1x 2m(ish) wide window, essentially a hybrid of a 'seating window' or 'picture window', but one which can open...
- 1x 3m wide picture window (dormer)
Just installed 2 French doors, 9 fixed, 6 casement and two top hinged. Pretty happy with them. Only thing is I took my eye off the ball on the configuration and the top hinged are double rather than triple glazed. Waiting for wife to notice (they were much lighter and easier to install off a ladder - otherwise I probably wouldn’t have noticed)

It’s an extension - so no Fensa requirement (didn’t actually know about this). Building on ‘notice’ and regs guy from the council is happy. House I’m extending is a 1950’s timber frame prefab forester’s house which is apparently no longer mortgageable anyway so I don’t know if there’s much point in getting a load of certification!Aerate said:

For fitting your own windows!

I'm in the process of retro-fitting windows which do not and cannot be fitted with trickle vents.Dont get me wrong, im all for ignoring the whole process as its nonsense, especially the FENSA BS, but under the new regime its 10 years enforcement period, unlimited fines and up to 2 years inside for a breach.
