How do you paint a container?

The paint we have is really thick and is really hard work. We’ve tried foam rollers but they literally last 10 minutes before they are torn to shreds.

I suspect brushing would use a lot of (very expensive) paint.

Has anyone any experience of this?

What sort of paint is it? Any mention of thinning it down in the manufacturer's instructions?

Thin the paint down and spray it.

Quite often a cheap electric fence sprayer will do as the finish isn’t that important.

What's the make and what do the instructions say about how to apply?

PU foam roller or a sprayer. Tbh you won’t be getting a decent finish if painting it outdoors at this time of year anyway so thin it down as required and spray it. The container needs to be dry and stay that way until the paint dries, any dew forming will prevent the paint setting properly and any water trapped under the paint will bubble.
