Settled on a kitchen supplier just going through appliances which look like being NEFF for ovens and hob and Bosch for fridge freezer.

Turns out NEFF make about 97 ovens or something stupid.

The requirement is "simply" a single oven and a compact combi oven/microwave.

N70 seems to be the sweetspot between value and pointless (to me) features.

Possibly looking at these two and wondered if anyone had any insight into what was and wasn't worth paying for.

Pyrolytic and air-fry and home connect seem sensible enough hence I think these look the most likely right now and it's a small kitchen so for the main oven the slide-and-hide feature.

There's this weird thing where an oven is an oven but when you need to decide which one to buy it all gets a bit analysis paralysis biggrin

The exact model we had installed yesterday in place of an old Miele. Not used it yet, but the decision making process was the same as you seem to have used. MrsLT really likes the NEFF ovens.

ETA: got it heated up today ready for first use. It’s pretty easy to use with the touchscreen. Only potential drawback is that the “slide and hide” door does cost you a little bit in oven capacity. It’s still a good design, especially if the oven is going at high level.

We have a 3 year old one. Telescopic rails are good and can be purchased separately. Not 100% needed with the slide and hide (imo)

The self clean cycle isn't as easy as the salesman would make it seem.

Slide and hide... I wouldn't live without now

Remember and check your power supply can handle the full wattage.

Is that actually true with the slide & hide? I’ve got one going in soon and as far as I could tell, the capacity was the same as a regular oven - they just seem to have less metal at the top of the oven compared to others i.e. everything just shifts up a bit.

Probably not explaining myself very well.

Silly question but will it actually tell you when it's reached the temperature you set?

Shifting from gas to electric so there's a bit of a learning curve coming I expect!

We have both pretty sure exactly what you're going for OP.

very happy with the oven. Slide and hide is great, self cleaning works well and the telescopic arms are very useful. Also tells you how warm it is viaba red bar so easy to tell when up to heat.

Home connect works, rarely used and their app is very 'busy'. But for pre warming when you're sat on the sofa it's useful.

The microwave works well, it's not very powerful though!! Pretty sure default is 600w and boost (which you need to swipe over to) is only 800w. This feels like a cop out compared to the 1000w turn table ones you can get for cheap from curry's.

It does seem to be a whisker smaller than the one that came out, but not by much.

Not sure if the app will do that, but the display shows actual vs target temp.

Slide and hide.

Impossible to clean on the oven. A nightmare to remove/refit (mine smashed last time I tried) to clean off it.

Plus vents on the door top chamfer that can dribble cleaning foam in between the triple glazing when doing quick cleans, leaving it looking a mess between big cleans.

Never mind stuff that falls off trays and onto door and as you pull door out to access, it gets steeper and slides further under.

But it is kinda cool, kinda… but annoying as well. Enjoy :-)

Ours beeps when up to temperature.

I found gas ovens have food come out more moist (water is a product of combustion)

Seems Our Oven has wifi !
Something i’ve never really seen as a benefit.
In a world now where the oven, washing machine and hood extractor are all wifi enabled

As has been commented on in numerous previous posts - Neff is a brand within the Bosh Siemens home appliances group - in other words they are similar, just permutations, variations and generations of the same basic product.
Just select the look and features that suit you. Siemens is posh Bosch - quite where Neff sits is slightly unclear to me , perhaps slide and hide Bosch?

We’ve had two slide and hides in our other house for nearly a decade. No idea how they get deep cleaned (we have a chap comes in to do them every now and again, afaik he doesn’t dismantle them) but haven’t noticed any of the issues you mention between cleans.

I really like the Neff/Siemens/Bosch stuff. Need to swap the dishwasher soon (the Siemens ones really are silent, you need the projected display to tell that they’re working, whereas the one we currently have I can hear from the next room).

If someone else cleans them then you won’t notice the cleaning issues then hehe

I’ve booked a chap for cleaning now.
Can’t be arsed with the extra faff of door removal and stripping triple glazed door to access inner pane.

If I were you I’d have a go at cleaning the front door. You can’t apply any real pressure as it moves.
And as you tip it up to get a firmer grip then liquids run down it and away from where you can clean.
Ie, the very bottom of the door is only accessible when it’s shut.

You need to remove it. And it’s nothing like as simple or foolproof as conventional doors.

We have a slide n hide and regular NEFF.

The lower oven is regular and the upper is slide n hide - and is a great feature.
If we had the space to have them side by side, then I'd get 2x slide n hide. Having the door fold in is a neat feature.

wifi enabled as well - that novelty soon wore off... I certainly wouldn't pay more for it, but came included in the model she picked.
What did surprise me was the cost! I had budgeted circa £1,000 for 2 ovens whereas it was close to 2x that much (covid times, no deals to be had)

Tend to keep on top of the cleaning and yes, there can be some marks on it but once a year get a chap around to give it a more thorough clean.
