High ceilings best step ladders?
Discussion
New house has pretty high high ceilings, around 3.8m I think.
We need to replace a couple of light fittings and also clean light fittings there after.
I would just use my trusty old step ladders, but I am mindful that my wife is the sort of person who will be in the house on her own and decide she is going up them on her own to clean the lights.. so I am looking for something better.
I think a set of industrial type stairs would be best, but we lack the space to store them and also getting them in and out of the house. So what ever we get needs to be folding.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Similiar high ceilings, I bought 4.0m internal scaffolding, massive help when it comes to redecorating and swapping light fittings, takes about 10 minutes to put up take down. Bit overkill to change a bulb though

At that height you should always have the other partner holding the steps firm. So always do it together. Just ensure you buy a set of step ladders that are designed to opperate at that height. I have a pair of the yellow fibreglass and aluminium ones (light as a result) where the steps are wider at the bottom to give a wider spread across so very stable. A quick pic off the internet to illustrate similar (not recommending any particular one, you need to see and try in person IMO).We need to replace a couple of light fittings and also clean light fittings there after.

That is quite a height for a house
We use Zarges at work, the only problem you will have is they are quite heavy once you start getting that big.

Lyte.
These are the ones I use indoors for the same sort of jobs at similar ceiling heights: https://www.ladders.co.uk/lyte-en131-2-aluminium-p...
They're not overly heavy but are very confidence inspiring. They're so good that I have two sets.
Or these for outdoors if I need to go higher: https://www.ladders.co.uk/lyte-en131-2-professiona...

I have a Victorian terraced house with high rooms so bought this ladder a few years ago.
Has worked very well, it's very sturdy and as a (not small) female I have no problems going up it alone to do jobs like painting or scraping horrible old polystyrene tiles from the ceilings.
