I've recently acquired a Record DMB65 bandsaw, not sure why I need it but was too good to pass up! It needs a new blade and I know you're supposed to match the blade to what you are cutting but I'm unlikely to be using it much so don't want a multitude of blades. Given it's likely to be used more for boards/ sheet material rather than resawing logs what would be a good general purpose thickness/tpi blade to get? Would a 3/8" 6tpi be suitable?

If I remember correctly you generally want 3 teeth in the material, so choose according to the thickness you'll be cutting. And separate blades for straight and curved cuts,.

Tuffsaws is probably the best place to buy bandsaw blades.
