Morning guys

My kitchen extractor doesn’t seem to be working well making no noise what ever setting a press . The light still goes on and off but that’s it . Any ideas or best to just replace think it’s about 8 year old .

Thanks

Have you regularly replaced the filter over the years (some have 2 types)? Wondering if the grease over 8 years has now clogged up the mechanical fan etc and it’s stuck / or cooked itself. Does it hum when you switch it on or completely silent?

If you’re handy with a screwdriver I’d look to dismantle the case and explore inside to see if there is build up of gunk, before I decide to replace.

For what it would cost to replace with the same just get a new one. To be honest, they are so cheap its almost not worth cleaning them other than a quick wipe to look presentable.

If however you go out and buy a 1000 quid one then its worth looking after!
