CCTV suppliers and camera quality
Discussion
Hi all,
I’m looking for recommendations on where to buy CCTV from? In addition, I wondered if anyone had recommendations on what specification cameras to buy. I’m planning on buying 6 cameras, and want something I can watch remotely without a subscription, along with the video being saved for playback. We live in the countryside, so it is very dark at night, and being able to see night footage is important, ideally I don’t want to have PIR lights installed.
Thanks

Only thing to consider with the ColorVu cameras is that in total darkness, you will have white lights shining from the cameras. The equivalent IR cameras don't have this light, but obviously BW images at night. Hikvision now also do a Hybrid version, which uses invisible IR until it detects a Human/Vehicle target, then switches to ColorVu, with the lights if required.
The images from the CV are very good, but, I have had many customers who don't like the white lights - as I drive around the countryside in Lincolnshire there are a few properties where I can spot the CV cameras shining from each corner of the house!
