It's November... the lawn is still growing
Discussion
This is a conundrum I was contemplating only yesterday. Our garden is looking a little unkempt due to the lawn and my last cut I did was slightly longer than usual due to it being a little damp. Now it's continuously damp and really needs a trim, but I know in doing so i'm going to regret it.

My neighbour is mowing his lawn right now. He has a deafening flymo, it must be knackered as he goes over it back and forth like he’s hoovering the carpet. Takes him 30 mins or so to complete what is a 10 minute job(we have the same size smallish garden).
You people have neighbours?Mowed ours last weekend, was a bit wet but just about got away with it, was hoping it would be the last mow for the year but alas no, I did plan to cut ours today as it was just about dry enough yesterday but woke up to drizzle knocking around so that's stopped that. Hoping it will be dry enough tomorrow as we have people over next weekend and SWMBO wants the place looking tidy (can't say I disagree to be fair)
Last year our grass never stopped, for us it's a positive in that we can rotate grazing easier and grass is still coming through. The downside/playoff however is disease survives the winter in the ground so can reinfect the flock.
We'd really like a cold spell/winter to kill off some disease rather than more growth this year. We've a shed full of hay so can supplement as and when needed knowing the cold is doing a Good job

Mine too, problem is it's too wet to mow!
It's annoying, I need to do a cut but it's all so damp and now there are leaves to contend with.Snow and Rocks said:
One "advantage" of living halfway up a North facing hillside in Aberdeenshire is that my last cut was weeks ago and that'll likely be it until well into May.
Similar topography - but I am very tempted to mow ours again in the next few days as temps are 12-15 and it’s been pretty dry this week. I missed the opportunity of the ‘last cut’ a few weeks back.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
