Which sliding door system (3 panel - 5m)
Discussion
Hi, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the below door from Cortizo? It is one that the builder has specified in his tender and whist I am sure it will be fine I just wondered if there is anything else we should be considering. 3 panel and 5 metres length. Thanks

We're very happy with our Origin triple sliders, 4.5 wide 2.4 high. Slide very easily, no draughts and never feel cold on the inside. Ordered and fitted by a local supplier but Origin sent a engineer to assist/ train the fitters on the day of fitting. If I remember correctly ours are 44mm sight lines which were the thinest available at the time without going to structural glazing. I believe they now do a 22mm version but over that area it will make very little difference.
We’ve just had Cortizo installed in our refurbed home. Not too much experience yet as we move in Tuesday!
Ours are about 5m wide, and 4m tall, so big doors. 3 panel. We’ve also got some slightly smaller ones too. Overall, early impressions are that they are really quality. I like how they slide from both ends, and they feel heavy and well built. We had spec’d Origin doors but they couldn’t do ones tall enough without them being ridiculously expensive, and no regrets so far. We had Origin doors before and they felt fine but the Cortiso ones feel better built.
I’ll happily update in a couple of days once we’ve moved in and I’ve had a chance to play with them.

I have 2 sets of Cortizo Corvision, one 2 pane at 3m wide and one 3 pane at 5m. They are great quality and we are very happy them. We’ve had the 2 pane for 4 years or so and just put the 3 pane into our extension in the last year.
I don’t know how different the 4200 is to the corvision, but I would recommend you get the supplying company to install and not your builder.

Wowzers 4m tall is big! I would be interested in your update Ours are about 5m wide, and 4m tall, so big doors. 3 panel. We’ve also got some slightly smaller ones too. Brilliant - thanks for reply. The Cor Vision looks a bit more sleeker and modern in that brochure... mmmmm I might request them as an alternative (subject to cost). Good advice re fitting company - cheers.I don’t know how different the 4200 is to the corvision, but I would recommend you get the supplying company to install and not your builder.
We had Cortizo sliders installed 5 or 6 years ago, and they’re excellent.
Ours are 2-panel, sliding from either end. Super slim frame, giving really good view. They can’t be opened from the outside - there’s no handle and the lock is not exposed, so I assume that makes them fairly secure (although a determined intruder will smash their way in I suppose).
They feel solid and we’ve had no problems with them. They just need an occasional blast of water to clear out the runner channels and keep them sliding smoothly.
They seem good from a thermal point of view as well. On a really cold winter day you can stand right up close to them and not feel any temperature gradient.
Edited to add: I’m not sure, but looking at the pictures on that web site I think ours are the Cor Vision. Slightly narrower central pillar, and a different opening mechanism compared to the 4700. Don’t think ours are triple glazed like the Cor Vision Plus. I’d definitely go for the thinner frame if the cost difference isn’t prohibitive.

Just in reply to the above - they (or at least the corvision) indeed do not come standard with handles on the outside. However it was (at least from our supplier) a no cost option to have them added. I have them on both of my sets - I did have to specifically ask though, it wasn’t offered.

Excellent - thanks for reply Mike. They look great - very minimal and modern. I will investigate the pricing of the Cor Vision. It would be interesting to get a price on triple glazed however I think it adds quite a bit of extra cost according to an article I've just been reading...Ours are 2-panel, sliding from either end. That's handy to know - thanks for mentioning as I would prefer having outer handles.Acoustically they seem great. I have the 2 pane one on my garden office that also has a drum kit in. With the door shut it’s practically inaudible. Both of mine are the corvision slim profile ones (not the plus)
Happy to PM you what I paid, but I wouldn’t neccessarily use where I got them from again (not because of the doors but just due to communication, delays etc). What ballpark have you been quoted for the 4200? There was massive variance in the pricing when I was getting quotes.

It’s actually the 4700 not the 4200 but I’m not sure on pricing as it’s included in the tender quote (not detailed, yet). If I had to guess though I’d say £10k for 5 metres??Happy to PM you what I paid, but I wouldn’t neccessarily use where I got them from again (not because of the doors but just due to communication, delays etc).
