Hi,
We have a section of GRP roof approximately 16m2 that’s showing some wear as the fibres are starting to show through the top coat. There are no leaks but is it ok to just re apply the topcoat and what is recommended?
I’ve seen this https://gooforit.co.uk/product/grp-roof-restoratio... and at £400 for the amount I require seems expensive when compared to Cromapol or Cure-it resins.
Has anyone had any experience of either?

Personally, if the existing topcoat is polyester resin I would consider adding another coat or two of the same.
Once you start introducing other resins or paints, future repair gets more difficult.
But I'd be concerned about getting it properly dry if fibres are exposed.
I have 30 year old boat with a GRP deck with no problems.
I like GRP as a material, but I've seen a few disasters where they are not done right.

Good point re the original material. Might stick with polyester.Once you start introducing other resins or paints, future repair gets more difficult.
