Yesterday I installed a new timer extractor fan in our shower room to replace the one that went kaput. I swapped the wires over as it appeared that they should go and now instead of coming on when the light is turned on and staying on for a period after the light has turned off it comes on when the light is turned off and remains on for a period of time.
I have attached pics so if anyone can see where I have gone wrong then I’d be grateful.
I’ve tested with a little light up screwdriver and with the light switched off I have power to the brown and 2 black wires.

You really need a mulimeter to prove but I suspect that the brown wire is the switched live and the green yellow is permenant live because somebody didn't have any 4 core flex!!

swap the green/yellow and brown around and put red tape on the green/yellow to identify it as a live wire
