Concealed cisterns - push buttons
Discussion
Hi all - I need to replace my concealed toilet cistern, but the cut out for the push button is quite large (65mm diameter) and all the ones I can see to replace it with are around 38mm.
Do they all work the same way? i.e. could I retain the buttons from my existing one, and just put the pipe connecting it from the new one up to it? Or doesn't it work like that? Seems to create a push of air or something when I push the button.
Thanks all.

yep they all work the same way, if you feel the need you can test it by replacing it with a syringe, I tested one for about 2 months before I got round to finding a proper replacement.
I’m afraid they don’t all work the same way. Turns out some (like mine) are air powered (pneumatic) and some are cable driven (like the one I just bought from B&Q).
At least now I know I can do some more specific searches.
