Lining wall behind kitchen base units
Discussion
I have battened out the bare brick walls in our kitchen and will be insulating between thew battens with PIR board.
One wall will be tiled and I am using marmox type board for that area.
The other walls will be 12.5mm plasterboard.
Is there any advantages/disadvantages to board the areas behind the kitchen base units with plywood? I was wondering whether it would be a more secure material for fixing the base units to, along with accessories/plumbing for a quooker tap.

Plywood seems overkill, base units will only need fixing to the wall near the top of the unit so you could put in some cross battens just below base unit height so you can fix into that and (depending on batten depth) the brick behind without risking punching through the plasterboard.
