Car port LED lighting
Discussion
Hello,
I am about to have a car port built, which consists of 2x 14’ x 24’ bays. So the total area undercover is 28’ wide x 14’ deep.
It’s normally going to be used to house 2 cars but I will be using for maintenance & detailing of my cars as well.
With this in mind I plan to have 2 lighting systems.
Normally a simple coach light on the front with a motion sensor will be there.
However for working on my cars I want some ceiling lights that will provide a decent working space.
Question is do I go for 3 rows of LED batten lights aligned either side of each car or should I have 2 rows of LED batten lights infront & behind the cars?
I did look at the very fashionable heaxagon lights but these will be completely out of keeping for where I live.
Any suggestions or experiences gratefully received so I can order the damn things!

For the work lighting, I’d overspec it and include lights along the edges of the garage facing inwards to throw light under whatever you’re working on.
For outside, have a look at https://www.gardentrading.co.uk/lighting/outdoor-l... for some better options than generic black lantern which will shed its paint in a few years.

I can always put lights going both ways on 2 switches.
