How hard can it be to add storage under the stairs? The two joiners I know are busy for the foreseeable frown

I've got the electricity boxes and meters in there so will need to keep some access.

I was thinking of adding 3 sections that pull out.

Anyone done it or any tips?

There's plenty of YT videos & FB Reels showing companies that do it . They build the body in the workshop as a large cassette & then slide it in. The tricky bit is getting the shut lines of all the various trim pieces lined up - it's like kitchen drawer fronts but with odd angles & in two dimensions.

We are trying to do this. Had someone lined up and he has bailed and changed career.

National companies won’t do shaker style doors which Mrs Interstellar would like.

Local bespoke carpentry companies advertise it but don’t call back, can’t need the work.

Shame it’s so hard work.

Thanks Chaps.

I'll also have a look on youtube.

I was hoping there might be kits you can order online or a "DIY kitchens" for it.

It depends who complicated it needs to be or you want it to be in all honesty.

It can be an incredibly simply job if desired. You simply build a frame in the aperture that forms a triangle at the top and one at the side which you then cover with plaster board, mdf etc etc and this leaves you with a rectangle of a door way which happens to be the exact size of a paid of Ikea or similar doors which you then simply attach.

It's basically making a miniature stud wall and cutting out some triangle shapes.

You can then spice it up from that basic primary school level to as complicated as you feel up to etc.

These are good: https://www.fittingly.co.uk/

I've used them a couple of times and found them good value and good quality.
