...and how do I get rid of it?

This large and dense collection has appeared in one particular flower bed. I think it might be Tawny Funnel, but that's based on a cursory web search.

I'm not going to eat it, and the dog pays it no attention, but I'd prefer it gone. Any tips, do I just pull it up ASAP and hope the spores aren't everywhere?

Any old tree stumps or trees nearby? Have you looked up Honey Fungus?

Looks like honey fungus. What's it on/near and what does it lookike from the side?

Got me worried now. When it stops raining I'll take some more pics.

No tree stumps, just a flower bed.

More pics. I pulled a piece up:

A few on the gravel path, seen from the side:

Side view while in ground:

The piece I lifted smelt just like a normal edible mushroom.

An update - all of it pulled up very easily, although there was a lot of it. No tree roots or stumps, it wasn't attached to any stems of plants.

Dump run tomorrow, and we'll keep an eye on it.

Thats just the fruiting bodies. The majority of the fugus will be almost invisible in the soil. Likely there is some decaying wood buried somewhere, old roots etc.
