I've not been able to access the screwfix website on any browser or device for months now. Anyone else?

I had the exact same problem a while back

If I remember correctly (it was a while back so I could be wrong), to fix it I clicked on the site information thing on the left of the address bar and deleted or changed something on the site data/settings, then reloaded it,

it's been alright ever since.

Have you tried downloading the app and using that instead?

I did have some issues with the website but they seem to have resolved now. I feel like since their push to get people on the app last year the website has been far worse.

I understand the app means they gather more data about their customers so I can see why we're pushed onto them. I still find it redundant to download and use an app which inevitably needs more input from me to ensure it's updated and not handed off if it's used infrequently when I have an internet browser that's ready and always updated and they have a website. I don't really see the benefit to the consumer to use an app in these situations.

Well you can check in, from the car park, using the app.

Why not? They out to get you?

Do you suffer psychosis?

Not seething. Just confused as to why you think apps are picking on you.

It's not been working on my phone for a while now - can't do stock checks or add to a basket, but Google search still brings items up

I will have a poke around later to see if I can reset or clear something, given some people have got it working.

Hope he doesn’t find out about hybrid web apps.

I occasionally have issues, perhaps try manually changing your DNS servers to googles and see if that resolves?

I don't, as a rule, download retailer apps. Far too creepy, Alexa is enough of a creepy weirdo already and I've sat in too many meetings over the years regarding the amount of data harvesting, tracking and targeting and how far one can push the rules and regs for gain to not have any great desire to be running around downloading that type of app.

Re your website issue, if it has been that persistent on your device then the issue will lie with your device. Maybe you're running some security software or are making a basic address error?

I downloaded their app when a sales team collared me in store to sign me up to electricfix and the app.

I saved the best part of £500 on a DIY job with discount vouchers they gave me.

As for the app, I don’t switch on the GPS on my phone unless I need it, and basically I don’t care if they’re tracking my favourite colour of silicone.

Though I wouldn’t do the same with Tesco or Amazon, that can get more personal.
