The garden multi-tool things seem to be not that much more money than a strimmer on it's own, and it would be useful to keep some of the hawthorn bushes in check with a hedge cutter and chainsaw attachment. Are the cheap ones any good, and are any particular brand better or worse than the others. Stihl and Husky are not really in the price range, even second hand, given the very limited use it will have.

I picked up the titan 4 in 1 from Screwfix back in the spring. Done loads of clearing in the garden this summer and it's been brilliant. I think I paid £150 on offer with a two year warranty. Starts easily and is pretty powerful. The chain saw attachment is super.

Beware the 2 in 1 version which looks identical- the chain saw attachment you can buy separately from the 4 in 1 won't fit the 2 in 1 as they sneakily have different shapes shaft adaptors. I had planned to pick up the cheaper 2 in 1 and expand it until I realised it wasn't possible.

Dewalt garden tools get my vote, have Strimmer and pole saw and very happy. The pole saw has various attachment options I believe

I bought the SGS 50cc 5in1 at about £170.

I’ve only used the strimmer but no complaints thus far.
