We've a small conservatory which has a tiled floor that's seen better days.

Historically the conservatory has been used as a bit of a garage extension but after a bloody good clear-out it should be usable as a nice space i.e. as a conservatory.

Get a heater and a sofa in there and it's quite a nice space.

In principle does the idea of putting down a ply covering and then having Karndean or something similar laid over it sound like a goer?

I'm sure you could do that. As an alternative, we had a hard wearing short pile carpet put down in ours directly on the tiles. Been down a couple of years and makes the room so much nicer to be in. Seems to help the cool in summer, warm in winter challenge of a conservatory.

Do any of your doors open into the conservatory?

Back on this now.

There's a sliding patio door from the dining room into the conservatory and the door into the garden from the conservatory.

I assume anything that's installed would sit below this and there would be some kind of edging trim.

There's a good inch or so between the existing tiled floor and the bottom of the "frames" of the existing doors.

I know of Karndean and Amtico but is there anything else worth considering and would you expect these go directly over the existing tiles or would ply be put down or "something else"?
