Morning all.

Our en-suite shower enclosure currently looks like this:

Which is fine for me, but due to the lack of mixer head my wife ends up using the main bathroom which has a shower over the bath situation. So the question is, how difficult would it be to add a mixer head to the wall on the left in the shower? To get something like this:

You are going to need a new valve with a diverter, or a separate diverter. Unless you can access from the other side (eg through a stud wall), you will need to take the tiles off.

Looks like its in a roofspace, so I suspect you can probably access the existing valve and pipework from behind. It wouldn't be a DIY job for me (I hate plumbing) , but I reckon a plumber could do a decent job of it.

The manufacturer of the valve you have, may do one with a diverter that fits in the same size space

My wife always insisted we install a handset as well as a rainfall, or even instead of. So its a key design criteria for us. Its even a criteria when selecting hotels for trips away.
