Yes, it's got to the stage where I am asking an internet forum of petrol heads what curtains to get.

I am looking for curtain fabric recommendations.

We've spent hours looking at curtain fabric, in person and online and we've not found what we want, because we don't know what we want.

Ceilings are high.
House is Victorian.
Walls are painted F&B Elephants Breath

These curtains from our old house are grey, and other than them being too short, we question if they are also too grey so match the wall colour too much - or if that's actually nice aesthetic.

I'm sure there's an interior designer out there somewhere in the forum!!

We invited a lady from the local curtain shop round. Came up with some good ideas, based on house decor and furnishings.

Dunelm and JYSK have decent options. We also have tall ceilings and went with kind of a beige/ oat coloured curtain then white voiles inside for more privacy.

Not the best photo but can see on the right hand side

We have high ceilings and tall, quite narrow windows in our Georgian house, not dis-similar looking to yours, and we gave up on curtains altogether, opting for Roman blinds. Thet take up less space and make the rooms appear bigger.

We went for a semi-shiny self patterned fabric slightly lighter than the walls which, again, are almost the same as yours.

See also speaking to the staff at John Lewis and or Brewers Dec shop.

They can also provide Silent Gliss curtain track.

For me, Roman blinds look much better when recessed, rather than hung like this - but each to their own.

We in a Victorian house with F&B Ammonite walls, tried lots of different curtains (amazing what some cost) and finally settled on some H&M blackout textured oatmeal colour ones. Don't go grey, go with an off white/mole colour for more warmth. We painted our loft conversion all grey and i'm sick of it
