Inherited an Island when we moved in 10 years ago

Now repainting and want to remove and fix the drawers which catch on the bottom lip and have to be lifted to close

Looked underneath but a bit baffled - any suggestions ?

They have springs and metal/plastic gubbins inside. These parts wear out and break, causing sticking, etc.

Also look at the carcass fixed guide rails; sounds like they've sagged with wear and tear, so probably require refixing. This might mean drilling out the old holes and putting in bigger studs...

Or filling the holes and redrilling. It's a faff regardless

if you undo those screws on both sides of the draw it will lift of the runners and you can see the whole of the running gear and you can work out why the press release is'nt working

Was the correct answer!

Just to update and say thanks

Ordered these

Forced the latch on the broken one and the drawer would not lift - lots of head scratching and then found a screw holding it (the only one and presumably a bodge fix for the broken latch!)

Then tackled the fact that the drawer bottom lip would constantly catch on the unit - got the bag of packers out and tried black under the rails - nope so then green - perfect

Put green ones in the other drawer - nope needed black

Now they both self close when pushed
