Hi,

I'd like a deterrent device (a flashing light, or a sound of a dog barking) to be triggered if someone were to jump a fence and get into my back garden.

Does anyone know of any decent solutions for this that are DIY and reliable? I don't want a simple PIR light.

I have a house alarm, good locks etc etc etc.

What i want is more of a deterrent.

Thank you.

Ideally after a SMART solution, such that I can check in if I am away.

I have multiple strategically placed Ring Doorbells on approaches to the house and also in the back garden. I also have Ring Cameras but the doorbells are less conspicuous for placing on the front of the house and don't annoy the neighbours privacy as much as cameras would.

I also have multiple Ring Chimes which are located indoors and near the doors but easily heard outdoors and they make a tinkle noise which would be well recognised by any intruder. There are barking dog sounds but they are a bit naff. Any sound file can be played.

The doorbells and cameras can detect movement and see people in zones and I get an alert on my mobile and as said any intruder will also hear the chimes.

There is a risk is that the intruder jams the Wi-Fi but I would probably get at least one alert and all the detection files are uploaded to the cloud so can't be lost.

Thanks a decent answer, makes a change round here!

I was thinking of something like this then IFTT operated lights, once the camera detects someone.

Wondered if there was anything better than Ring for this.

My eufy cameras do this really well. I have them on a schedule so they change mode automatically, they have a built in light and alarm combo, along with notifications and even person recognition.

Reolink solar camera.

Easily programmed with whatever warning sound you like. Plus security light.

@£120 each.

I've got 10 of them. For exactly the type of reason you describe.

You can program each function for what times of the day, and days of the week.
