Mastic around windows - failure

Had a ‘mastic man’ zip around our newly installed windows, bifolds etc.

6 months on and the mastic has pulled away (shrunk?) from the wall and lifted the paint with it…

I am trying to determine where the issue lies before attempting a remedy.

Any thoughts?

Poor paint job? Incorrect prep or mastic used?

They probably used the cheapest or wrong product for the job due to it shrinking.

I always use Geocel products, they don’t shrink and are great to work with.
