Stumbled across the battery operated curtain automator in the Metro of all places, but having checked out their site, I'm rather interested

Wondering if anyone has used them?

No but at almost 200 per window it's one automation I'd like but will do without for now

I've got 3 pairs of Switchbot curtain motors, fitted to eyelet curtains on metal poles.

They've been in use for nearly a year, controlled by Alexa schedules and routines. Battery lasts 6 to 8 months.

I have had one failure, Switchbot sent me a replacement. I took the old one apart, no chance of fixing it - the electromagnetic clutch had disintegrated.

Good to know. I’ve taken the plunge with one set for our main living curtains which never end up getting closed as it’s a bit of a faff with all the kid’s crap in the way so these might be a very welcome addition.

I've got the light switch thingy. It's able to switch the garage light off from my phone so I don't have to run down the drive in the pouring rain when I've left it on.

TBH, it's a bit like the old 'Useless Box' toy (look on ebay if you haven't seen one) because when activated, a little finger comes out of the box. clicks the switch and disappears again. Grandkids love it!
