We have a 40sqm garage, which is insulated well. However wet cars still leave puddles and general humidity.

I'd like a small hired plumbed dehumidifiers, but one that can be timed to only come on at set times... When our Octopus Tariff is on cheap rates.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks

This, or even an old school timer plug/socket.

I have a dehumidifier that's works very well, but when turned on and off at the plug it doesn't start... You need a manual press of the on button to actually start it.

It's trying to find ones that can be controlled via a plug (ideal) vs the extra 'on' button that I want to be careful of.

Yes, I have 2 - one that has a single power "touch" button so when you plug it in, you still have to press the button to start the thing, and one that comes on based on physically where the setting is on a dial (it's old!). The Meaco one above has the single power on/off button and not a rocker switch so is not going to work for your application. I think you'll have to find a dehumidifier and go through the online manual to determine if suddenly giving it power will switch it on or not.

If the dehumidifier needs a button pressed to start it, you could use a Fingerbot:

Several versions of this idea on the market. App controlled, so you could set up a schedule

If I put my bike away actually wet, I find it's a lot to expect from a dehumdifier.
I tend to leave the garage door open a bit for a couple of hours.
It's an electric up/over door so having a 2 inch gap top and bottom allows a lot of airflow and is reasonably secure, but maybe not what you'd do if it opened onto a back street.

I have two dehumidifiers, the new Meaco one needa a button pushed, the cheap nasty 15 year old one is OK on a timer.

That's what I did. It meant I could voice control it by asking Google to turn it on for x hours.

Ours had physical switches though so would start as soon as power was applied.

This is smart/wifi enabled. I am getting one of these for laundry mostly. Also get bad condensation on the windows in the bedroom in summer so was thinking of hooking up an Alexa routine and humidistat to turn it on automaticxally

We have a Meaco that is controlled by a TPlink Wifi plug - works very well

The model is: Meaco Dry ABC Range 12L Compressor Dehumidifier

Tried the Switcbot thing on our other one - it's not strong enough!
