Anyone know a good supplier and how to identify what this is?

It's from a biomass boiler and the spare parts always seem to have a 10x multiplier and £20 to post in an envelope! So would prefer to source elsewhere if it's generic part.

It is a thermocouple or a temperature sensor probe, which is commonly used in biomass boilers to measure temperatures within the system. These probes are integral for controlling the temperature and ensuring efficient combustion and operation of the boiler.

The probe's length, diameter, and type of connection (screw or plug) are important to note. It also helps to know if it is a thermocouple (which generates a small voltage corresponding to temperature) or a resistance temperature detector (RTD, which works on a different principle).

Take detailed measurements of the probe's length, the screw type (if there is one), and the wire connection (green wire shown in the image), which will help when searching for a compatible part.

Try industrial part suppliers such as RS Components, Farnell, or Digikey, as they carry generic temperature probes, thermocouples, and RTDs that may match the part you have.

10/12 E might refer to:

10" length, or 310st/st sheath material

12 - mineral insulated, high temp type

E - thermocouple type, 0-800°C

All things thermocouples > https://www.tc.co.uk/downloads/Mineral-Insulated-T...

But then again, it might not be. Do you have the boiler's O&M manual? That would give a part ref. that could then be cross referenced.

Looks like some kind of retaining plunger.

It looks like a solar thermal PT1000 sensor, but much longer. 10 could refer to 10 kilo ohm resistance?

Looks like it's the above, which is a good start!

Always got my stuff from a Wolsely Plumb Center.
You will need the serial number and type of the boiler.
A photo of the rating plate will help massively.

Green and white cores means it's a type K thermocouple.

No idea what 10/12 E refers to.

The picture gives diameter and insertion length, so finding one from the likes of TC Direct is possible.
