Size of Opening for Double Doors?
Discussion
Hello all.
I'm building an en-suite bathroom and there will be double doors at the entrance. The doors will be the standard UK size of 1981mm x 763mm. The flooring will be Quick-Step LVT at 6mm thick.
So my simple question to the PH experts is what size should I build the door opening?
Looking at the doors around my house there seems to be 2mm all around, which puts the height of the opening at 1981mm+2mm+2mm+6mm = 1991mm and the width at 763mm+763mm+2mm+2mm+2mm = 1532mm.
That's probably right, but I only want to make the opening once. I'll get a carpenter to fit the things at the same time he'll be fitting some other doors.
Cheers all.
