I've just got my electric lawn rake out and it seems to have a single tine remaining! As it was a no brand cheap one I bought about 15 years ag it's time to get a new one

Any recommendations?

Just needs to be DIY grade as it's a reasonable sized back garden to do only

I bought the Von Haus electric one. It's been fantastic. In fact I used it last night to do a first pass - filled 2 garden bins on level 2 (2nd highest). Will be doing a second pass later. Has a scarifier and a lawn rake attachment.

fwiw I dont use the collection box - pointless. I just collect the grass after (blow into piles then into the bin, then mow with box on).

+1

I have a Von Haus electric one and it is brilliant.

I also have a Von Haus Cordless Grass Edge Trimmer, which takes exactly the same battery as the scarifier - I'm very impressed with both pieces of kit.

Thanks both. I'll look at that one. I should ask in the lawn thread as well!

I had a old Black&Decker , I replaced all the spring tines and it lasted another two years, until the motor burnt out. Being fair I tried to use it for too long a period of time and it overheated. Tines were available on E-Bay, bit of a pig getting the roller out but eventually managed it.
I use a scarifying cassette in my Webb/Allett petrol cylinder mower now, also have verti cutter and brush cassettes.

I bought an AL-KO 38P Combi-Care 2-in-1 Petrol Lawnrake/ Scarifier a few years ago.

It's proven to be idiot proof. It was easy for the small bits of lawn and I used it on the half acre bit a couple of times.

Resurrecting thread.

I had a Lawn scarifier/aerator which has given to me but the scarifier tines had broken so needed to buy a new scarifier.

Ordered a new Vonhaus 2-in-1 Scarifier & Aerator 1500W which arrived, I assembled and I did a couple of passes of my lawn.

It did seem to be hot, running slowed and there was a burning smell, so I unplugged it and dropped Vonhaus a note about it.

To Vonhaus's credit they responded immediately to replace it without any quibbles.
