I completed on this a few weeks ago in a nice town on the wirral
Bad parts first , it's been an 80s renovation so it's dated inside and needs the full shoot and an extension to form a more appropriate kitchen - diner- garden room, I paid more than I really wanted to and probably 26k more than I really think it's worth but it's the last house we're buying . I know nothing of gardening !
Good parts are it's in a town I've lived in for the past dozen or so years so I've got a good social circle , it's less than ten mins walk into town with a good selection of restaurants- bars - shops , there's actually a decent gastro pub a couple of mins walk away . I've now got an oversized double garage , a big garden with a large workshop ripe for converting into an outside entertaining- cooking area as well as a small gym area .
If anyone's interested I'll post another few pics up and keep updating as I complete the work , it may be a while as it's mainly going to be a one man effort but considering I built a three bed bungalow on my tod in france a few years ago this shouldn't be to taxing !

I'm originally from your neck of the woods smile

Congrats on the new place, but didn't you a) use to have a garage with a Ferrari in b) have the most fantastic BBQ setup? Inside BBQ etc?

If I've got the right guy, where have they gone!

No Ferrari but I did make an indoor BBQ at the last house affectionately called the " beach hut "
I can't wait to build myself another one in this outbuilding with a pizza oven alongside

Solid house with great potential. Looks very familiar. Which town / village is that?

It's in heswall , although I doubt you'll have seen much of it as the previous owner was a bit of a recluse and lived behind his locked gates for 31 years !
The neighbours have spoken more to me in 3 weeks than him in his 31 years here apparently , they've also been very polite and diplomatic in their opinions on him so I suspect there were issues .

I'll rip the front out of the left hand side of the outbuilding-workshop and leave the roof supported on the frame work then use that as the outside cooking area and the rear section as entertaining-party room , I'll pave the way to it from the house and run it straight into the covered section and inside area . BBQ and pizza oven will be built from brick by myself with a chimney through the covered section roof . You can tell I've been waiting months to get in this place !
This weeks project is sort out the loft storage space and get shot of this stinking monstrosity
I know some people like them but it's not our thing and I've a feeling it's going for a final journey to the scrap yard as I can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to move it on .

Stoked to watch the outdoor cooking area develop!

I'm still not sure if I've got you confused with someone else though ha, did you have a indoor bbq in a white painted room type thing?

Grew up very close by... and almost bought in the lower village when we moved back ~7 years ago. The region does have its fair share of characters!

Speak to your local Aga supplier. A friend had a similar issue in their new place. Their Aga was a bit bigger than yours, (about 50% from recollection - looked like 2 x 1200mm ranges), than yours but they got £10k from Aga who came and took it away - and that was a big job! Not sure how old yours is, as their’s was only 4/5 years old. This was 8 years ago. Don’t ask, don’t get!

I'll definitely give it a go although the previous owner said this aga was fitted in 1976 , I suppose there's a possibility it's a collectors item ! Reality is it's a stinky , oil leaking , non lighting eyesore , I've followed all the instructions to light it but it's probably two years or more since it was lit

Was the seller OK with you in the end?

I mentioned in the other thread, but I guess you were busy moving, there seems to be few OK looking properties really sticking there - one was in an article in the Echo recently that’s been on the market for four years.
