Large Storage bins - Dog Food Etc
Discussion
We're after some Storage bins, ideally sqaure and fairly straight sided so can put them side by side reasonably space efficiently.
Atleast one needs to be able to take a 15kg dog food bag, plus a bit so we don't actually run out between bags, the others will be used for bulk bought rice/pulses etc.
Needs to be robust for daily use, and mouse proof, and not a stupid price.
Perfect would be this, with metal handle, for half the price! Any suggestions?

Interesting, appears quite narrow and straight sided 54L/20kg is a good size, dont appear to be able to get it without the graphics on the side, but they do as SS version of it, which I have found for £35 and free delivery. https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_bowls_feed...
Ive also found this plastic one for £27

Mice don't go near some plastics, but will munch away at others to their heart's content. Tupperware stuff they seem to ignore, but they'll eat the top right off a bottle of hot sauce, or engine oil.
I got some bins years back, think they were the same sort of thing that council cast iron bins have inside. Rectangular, galvanised ones with a flip top. A tenner each or something from the local market, still have them in the garage stuffed with various things. They have a lever bit on the side that opens them when the outside bin casing is put back on after they are emptied.
But obviously I don't really need cast iron bin casings, so they just stay closed until you shove the lever down by hand. It would be a brave and extremely strong mouse that would manage to get inside them to eat the lid off my Aspen 2-stroke mix bottles.

Yes its very funny what they will and wont eat, but one of the things they are very happy to do, is gnaw through the bottom of the food bags and help themselves to kibble, also dog treats, and grass seed.I got some bins years back, think they were the same sort of thing that council cast iron bins have inside. Do they take the top layer of the grass seed off and leave it behind?
I once made the mistake of leaving a bag of skin-on peanuts in the cupboard - came back 3 months later and the bag had been eaten, the nuts had been eaten, and the little monsters had left the peanut skins in a neat little pile - obviously didn't want them!

Update, storage bins arrived today and are bang-on.
First picture shows bin with a whole 15kg bag of kibble in it, plenty of room for the end of the previous bag.
Second shoes two under a counter, small flap just opens with the hight of a washing machine and or counter which must be intentional.
The 'SS' is just printed on but actually looks really good and won't dent etc.

Four years on, still using an loving the Curver storage box.https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_bowls_feed...
We have a pair now, one for loose kibble and one to store all the other treats etc we buy in bulk. Works nicely under a standard height counter besides the washing machine
