Any got any suggested suppliers or brands?

I realise anything with a stack of lights working outside and often swaying about cant last forever, but using the normal led based 'indoor outdoor' sets from the likes of bnq and ebay seem to mean every year significant chunks of the lights don't work and you ended up having to either bin them, or repair them or live with one bit that only half lights, etc.

I also don't like flashing which most do, and have to hunt for static, which then it forgets if you turn it off ever.

Where do the professionals get their lights? Pubs that have lights in trees all year round?

https://www.festive-lights.com/

I've had some from the outdoor connectable range this yr, quite impressed at the quality of the plugs and cables. Too early to how well they last.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming!

W1bbles is everything from the site good in general, have you used them yourself? I am looking at the 'pro series' which look to be just the job, connectible and silicon filled.

PositronicRay, thanks for the link and comments. I will have a look and maybe get a set from a couple sites each this year and see how we go!

I am currently going off amazon ordered ones, buy them for this season and use them, test them out next season before they go up, duff ones return under the 12 month gurantee and buy a new pack or two of them and etc.

Sticking to the mantra of buy cheap, buy twice every year. Amazon customer service guarantees minimal on of hassle.

Yeah, I had just thought that as long as you check them about a week before they go up you should be good for two seasons out of a 12 month guarantee!

Strings are great for trees in and out, cheap sets around the insides of windows, but since a year living in india I love the wall of 'curtain lights' lights they use so much there and got good comments when I last did it here.

I also have a soft spot developing for a 'tasteful' family of grazing reindeer like the ones below.
If anyone has used these: https://www.lights4fun.co.uk/i/q/D-XX160123/reinde...

The company is run by friends of mine. They have been in business for years and supply big commercial operators too. In the unlikely event you have any problems I’m sure they will sort you out.

Try https://www.dzd.co.uk they do B2B large scale display stuff as well. The lights are so much more sturdy and durable than the stuff from the B2C suppliers.

This. 100%. I'm confident my Connect-Pro lights will outlast me, and it's great being able to have the whole lot hooked up to a single socket.

These are probably at an extreme end of the spectrum, but I've had then for our tree indoors for about 5 years or more and they work really well. They do them in a number of applications:

These are from the local garden centre, and now on the 5th year of use (3 sets) Will see if I can find the box with name. I don’t like flashing, these have an adjustable box.
