Plenty of decent track pumps for sale but obviously you won't get anything decent for £20!

Right you have all convinced me that a floor/stand/track pump is the way to go rather than another foot pump, at least if keeping to a low budget. I was temped by the double barrel foot pump but at over £40 I don’t think it’s for me given the limited use case I have.

Have gone for a Dunlop branded one of eBay, feedback seems good at least. Not expecting much but if it pumps up the bicycle tyres and the gauge is accurate within about 5psi I’m happy.

Realistically, you don't get much (of anything) for £15 - £20 these days.
Yeah, I mean that too.

Inflation has certainly happened in my my life time of buying things (37, so the last 20 years) and coupled with other cost increased, £20 is the new £10 and hence anything worth having starts at £40-50.

TBH I find that my £14.99 Halfords pump does a perfectly good job of topping up tyres. Feels quite sturdy and no batteries needed.

Compared to something like a Kismet Baby, the Halfords pumps are utter garbage. The frames are not rigid enough, which results in the connecting rods bending, and that's it, your pump is fit for the bin.
I had several increasing expensive pumps from Halfrauds (both battery and foot puymps.) I eventually gave up and spent a bit more on a refurbised vintage pump from the link I posted above. Yes at £60 my pump was four times as expensive as yours, but mine is already 60 years old and is still going strong. You'll be lucky to get more than a few dozen uses out of the Halfrauds ones.
