Spotted this on a walk yesterday. It's Grade II listed, needs loads of work, only has pedestrian access, is attached to a damp church, and it probably floods since it's right by the river and everything that close to the Wye does.

No surprise, it's been on the market for ages. I can't fathom why anyone would buy it.
Yup, it's in a flood zone 3 (the worst).

edit: And here's a picture of it under water:
https://www.alamy.com/the-riverside-moravian-churc...
It's not underwater? The water is within a few yards of the building, but even the bad one in 2020 doesn't seem to have reached it.
There's brown water right up to the side wall I think, or is that a grass slope? Also the photo is from Feb 2020, your video is March 2014.

edit: Seems the church was not flooded so they were probably ok. I'd still keep anything valuable off the floor though biggrin

Very much. Probably it would make a better holiday let than a home, especially with the access. Renovation would be a right pain in the arse unless you could induce the neighbour to allow a Manitou to land deliveries in the garden off their drive.

This is never a good sign, is it?

"Key features:-
1. CASH PURCHASERS ONLY"
Isn’t that simply because at the moment it has no functioning kitchen, and is therefore deemed uninhabitable, hence unmortgageable?

Well this is an unexpected turn of events...

It looks as though the landlord has found his niche in building little boxes on the end of existing homes...

Probably some kind of money laundering scam.

Surprised rents so expensive now in Leeds, last time I was there a few years back you could get a 1 bed flat for under £500.

The state of the toilet is shocking, likely only good for a developer to raze and then rebuilt.

I was going to say that it really didn't look that bad from the exterior shot. Then I realised that the property you can actually see isn't the one for sale and it's the one hiding behind the massive, unruly hedge!

And I’d hazard a guess it doesn’t have planning permission or B regs approval

That's about a week's gas on a card meter, the tariff on those things is designed to keep the poor poor.
Eeek, when we got our property back from our tenants, we had to settle the debt with EDF ourselves before they would turn the leccy back on. Thankfully it was only £52.

£662 owed! How is that even possible?

When i bought a property that had key meters, that were in debt by a little amount. I ordered replacemnt keys and the debt was wiped.

I would top up £20 and when the electric went off, pull the key out and back in for £10 emergency credit, then off to the shop to top up. As after that £10 went there was no more emergency funds.

About a million pound of top ups and 12 weeks later, I had normal meters installed. Them things really do hit the poor hard !

I really like the picture window next to the throne and shower, with the swings and trampoline right outside. Perhaps frosted glass might have been a little better? rolleyesscratchchinyuck

One assumes it has been designed for the single gent who likes options for watching young children play? He has the sofa, the shower or the crapper.
