Have you put your heating on yet?
Discussion
I just moved the timer on the thermostat so the heating comes on at 8pm instead of 6pm. It wont come on until after the sun goes away most nights.
Im not turning it off until we are at least half way through May.
Im also changing the duvet to the summer downy.
Winter was a 10.5 tog
Summer downy will be a 4.5 tog
We do have a 15 tog downy but it hasnt been a bad enough winter in about 5 years for that

Is it worth shopping for energy right now?
Hateful British Gas sent me a "please fix your tariff" email yesterday, just as the cap is predicted to fall. Cannot wait to get away from them but with no EV to worry about are they all just the same charging everything they can?
They are all baking in the predicted changes to the cap so don't think you'll find a competitive advantage. Only thing I've found with Ovo is their PowerMove if you can do it is worth a good chunk. Winter it was easy and I got £15/month credit. The spring one is hard though and I've not managed it.

I think the price cap is set to come down in July isn't it? I'm not sure when that'll be reflected in tarriffs though.Hateful British Gas sent me a "please fix your tariff" email yesterday, just as the cap is predicted to fall. Why can’t women grasp thermostats?
Tiny hands?I have to say, the price cap on the news coming down today is all well and good but the forecast (from Cornwall Insight as it always seemed to be touted as a good indicator) is that it will, understandably with demand increasing, go back up Q4 to 6.29 for gas units (I tend to focus on that as it's my main consumption)
Has anyone seen any sort of forecast vs actual to see how this company performs in it's market forecast? I'd be interested to see how far they are off the resulting price cap, as right now, a fixed rate of 5.2p on gas for a year with Ovo my current supplier is looking rather attractive compared to a 'forecast' 6.2p for Q4....

I don't get it either, its not hard, in the winter I frequently come home to the thermostat up really high "to heat the house quicker", she is convinced it does as it was cold when she came in from work, the fact that the heating is generally timed to come on around when she gets home/just before, seems to escape her no matter how often I tell her, it is just coincidence as she has maybe arrived home a bit earlier than normal "oh it's cold I'll whack the thermostat up to heat the house quicker" when in fact the heating has just turned on around when she has got in.Of course the thermostat is then left on really high until I get in to a bloody sauna, as she has forgotten to turn it back down!!
It is a constant battle and after 28 years of me trying to educate her, she still doesn't get it!!
