Quite attractive, and good garaging:

One of the few large houses I’ve seen that would probably be best as a hotel.

Lovely building but doesn't seem to feel or look like a house in a way. Not sure on the owners tastes there, those two TV’s being jammed into those period rooms are a crime and that bar just looks nasty.

Shere and Peaslake area is fully of stunning properties. That’s a lovely place.

Very very remote though. Couldn’t even walk to the pub from the first house. That’s part of my issue with a lot of these places, the need to drive EVERYWHERE. I actually grew up in a similar location (not quite as nice a house as that!) and I’m sure my parents just drink drove when they went to the pub. More socially acceptable 25 years ago potentially but it’s a factor.

Just over the fields from my brothers house. Not overly keen on interior but lovely grounds and outbuildings.

Nice in every sense apart from road noise from the hogs back.

The A31 is over the brow and down compared to the old road, so this place will be pretty quiet - you don't often get a northerly wind direction.

I'm surprised they aren't asking more for it to be honest.

You're right, I saw Hogs Back and thought the worst, but as you say its the old retired pre bypass bit.

I totally agree with you. Stick that in Tilford/Frensham/The Sands/The Bourne or similar and its another 2-3m all day.

Cycled past this the other day - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/120659177 - looks a very 'liveable' house for it's size.

I'm guessing pic 17 is the ginger stepchild's room?

One of the more tasteful US properties, bar the ‘guitar pool’ perhaps…

From the blurb "award winning 90' violin-shaped pool with flanking koi ponds" um still not me but agree not the worst US one posted.

Water water everywhere. I know, bloody A road, flooding every Friday, yada yada yada, but for someone who loves a chalkstream* you get your own (unlisted) Mill, a millpool, fishing, lots of space, lovely gardens:

Yes, yes, a million times yes.

I'm assuming it's mandatory I take up fly fishing?

Your call, but you'd be a bloody idiot if you didn't - it doesn't get much better, and it's all yours!

OK then. I'll suffer the indignity.

(tbh, one thing I'm a bit pissed off I never tried was beach fly fishing for bass - I used to live less than 50m from a great beach for it).

I've never caught a fish in my life, but adore being on/in/around water.
