This gem must surely have been on here before, but I'll post anyway. I imagine Shakespeare probably once lived here given the location.

....Surely there can’t be many homeowners with such appalling taste biggrin
I'd imagine the number of prospective owners with such gash taste has reduced dramatically over the last few days!

POA but was on the market back in 2018 for £16m, so I can only imagine the new number will be upwards of that.

Lovely building. I've never quite worked out why wimbledon common is SO expensive, is a bit puzzling. I get it in Hampstead, or one of the things around Regents Park, Hyde Park, even Holland Park, but Wimbledon Common I've never got. Not loads there, long way out of town (even with a driver its a faff to get places), very close to the A3 noise wise, funny one.

Looks like many millions to sort it out too.

Looks like #4 did sell for £14m in 2018 but the lack of any work indicates all the new owners have done is secured planning for a few additions including a swimming pool.

And if it helps, the one next door (Chester House) did also sell for a reassuringly expensive sum of £14m back in 2007!

Wimbledon Village is lovely though - grew up not far from there and it was my old stomping ground. A real countryside in London feeling back then in the 80s.

But it’s not unlike many other little high streets IMO. Should think schools may factor - KCS short stroll.

I think perhaps the Tennis element probably appealing to foreign money ti be near quaint English happenings.

It's a bit near the road, but I could be happy here just for the outdoor cooking/eating area.

The house is lovely, but it's a lot of money for something on a busy roundabout at the cheap end of town. Not that Winchester really has a cheap end. But if it did, Stanmore would be it.

As nice as that looks, you'd have to be really into the outside thing to justify that area. Surely, bifolding doors all round would have the same effect but giving you a watertight, usable space?

Would something like this also need planning permission, as you've got quite a chunky structure - with what only seems to be 1 wall missing that would have made it airtight?

EDIT: 2 sides

In Tyneside, yes. In Winchester, less so.

Although I can only assume you are a migrant, as no one who hails from Tyneside owns a coat, let alone would suggest sitting under a roof, with a fire pit, could constitute unusable wink

Seems incredibly expensive for the location and the fact that its just a 'nice' 5 bed house. No pool or other 'big' property features that I'd want for that sort of outlay.

Love being outside. Had two BBQs this week.

It really shouldn't - a pizzaria with wood fired oven doesn't stink of fuel, nor does my smoker barbecue that gets run in charcoal. At worst, it'll 'reek' as much as a living room with open fire.

The gas grill will smell as much as a gas hob.

It’s 50m from a petrol station isn’t it? From the satellite view?

Oh, gotcha!

Thought you were referring to the 'semi outdoors' kitchen!
