I used to live in that bit of Hackney, by Victoria park, 20 years ago. I absolutely loved it.

We did used to think that a terraced 5 bed house at £500k was a bit toppy: things have clearly moved on!

Well, it's the beginning of the month, so time to see what Omaze are offering:

I rather like that one. I'm a massive fan of the internal courtyard-slash-lightwell. Very Japanese.

Here's the listing: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/135301022#

Hackney?

Pass!
Didn't we have this one the other day? No parking, IIRC.

given that the station is (meant to be) 1.9 miles away it would be more than a 10 minute walk, the train itself is an all stations stopper which takes about 40 minutes. Ok if you can get a parking spot at Shenfield it's 18/20 minutes to Liverpool St (which is likely why I feel that 40 is 'slow')
It's half a mile from Brentwood station, and Shenfield is further away from London. If you livdd on Woodman Road, the only reason you'd get the train from Shefield is that you'd have more chance of getting a seat.
I know Shenfield is one stop upstream from Brentwood - it also provides a non-stopping service to Liverpool St and/or Stratford (depending on what's needed)
Well, perhaps. As I said, I lived there 30 years ago, so things may have changed. smile

Nevertheless, I'd take a ten minute walk to Brentwood over driving to Shenfield, hoping to get a parking space and then (if successful) paying for a day's parking just to save 15 minutes on the train.

absolutely agree with you there!! That said it's a strange old market in Brentwood/Shenfield/Billericay - exacerbated by the Lizzy Line

Not sure what I think, but that green roof is just asking for trouble.
What kid isn't going to climb through that flimsy fence to play on that?

Anyone climbing over a metre high chainlink fence wants and deserves their heart's desire, which in this case is plummeting 20' and getting a helicopter ride to Derriford Hospital.

Not pawn in the classical sense, but a lovely little place in a great location to downsize to… https://thorntons-property.co.uk/Anstruther/KY10/1...

I would want off-street parking and a quieter location, not on an A-road with two bus stops outside. Otherwise that'll do nicely.

But is there anywhere for it to land - which is the question I asked the ambulance crew who came to our aid when I totalled my car on the Atlantic Highway at about 11.00 one night.

The chain link is invisible in some of the photos, I thought I saw one where it shows fairly clearly that the chain link mesh doesn't go all the way around, just the posts and ropes.

My favourite house in my home town is for sale... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/149633681#/...
We were going to hire it for our wedding party.
There is one MAJOR issue though (not the fact it's in Brixham, don't be rude) and that is it seems to have a shared drive. Buggar.

Brixham's tolerable, at least it isn't Torquay.

That's pawn for me.

Why is the shared drive a major issue?

I was probably being dramatic but I would want the entire property to myself, especially at that money in Brixham. You never know what neighbours are going to be like.

Couple near me, I really like the second one, the woods at the end of my garden lead through pretty much to where it is, so walk past it quite often, the views are superb and its almost bang opposite the entrance to the golf course.

(and they've knocked 350k off the price and moved the Urus off the driveway in the last week....)

Not right next to it, but looking at the map there's a field opposite the caravan storage yard down the hill or the football pitch in the other direction, maybe 400 yards or so.

One of the best I’ve seen on here. Even though some is old fashioned I quite like all of it! Lovely spot.

It's not grabbing me either. Far too many neighbours and general annoyances for £3.6m

Theres some amazing piles in Devon for that money, but any with a whiff of sea air are hugely compromised.
