After lengthy discussions today, we are upgrading to Mitsubishi units with the internal units being the "ZEN" models (in black). looks a lot better, a little better warranty and as you rightly point out.... WiFi!
I mentioned this to the Fujitsu rep, his reply we can add the Wi-Fi modules but that’s another £200+ per unit.

With the Wi-Fi, I can look on the AP & set room to cool as I leave work or heat as is the plan come Autumn.

Can set schedules if required & the energy monitoring is very good smile

We don't have zen models but if the WiFi is the same, don't expect much. The app is clunky and it's not Alexa compatible (I don't think). The only smart aspect is Google. Home being able to switch on and off.

Unless someone else has had more luck than me!
According to the blurb it's Alexa compatible, but I'll know in 34 days!

What App do you use ?
It turns out I'm wrong and yes, you can use Alexa. But I've just never been able to get them to work. I recall that they have an odd name on Alexa skill rather than air con, they're know and dehumidifiers or something.

Even last night trying to change WiFi settings to new router I couldn't get to the log in page. Will have to contact Mitsubishi.

I suppose it's conceivable that you might have a dodgy WiFi card on the AC maybe? I wish you luck in your quest!

A good point but I don't think so as they worked 9n the previous router plus can connect my phone to Them as an access point - just can't do anything beyond that!

I don't know about anyone else, but this past week I've felt like a right chump ordering the whole house installation! (Granted not installed until mid Aug).

Are we going to see any decent temperatures ?

We've had ours on overnight and whilst it doesn't kick in very often, it does make sure that the room stays cool - and there is an ioniser in ours that cleans the air too.

I am looking forward to stable temps, currently using the portable units, but you can't leave that on all night long. So around 2 I end up popping it on for 20mins or so.

Yes. My neighbour has leveled the same accusation!

I take full responsibility!

Funny you say that, we just had our installation done this week and I'm wondering the same. It's fine next 3 years will be 40 degrees plus if all doomsayers are to be believed.

I used CJH on the back of some others on this thread. Can't fault Chris and his son Daniel - great job, communication and kept things tidy and me up to speed on stuff. I'd recommend them.

At least it will also do heating in the winter!

Rural Suffolk might be a bit of a trek for CJH from Surrey!

Happy to have had it installed this year, used it a quite a few times last month, not so much this month. Nice to close off any outside noise in the summer when the windows are open, and the streamer function helps with hayfever

Looks unlikely, and thankfully not to the level in Southern Europe. In the garden office, mine will see more winter over summer use, which is a lot cheaper to run than the previous heating options

I'm looking forward to be able to remove all the radiators and that part of the 'wet' system, they are a pain in the donkey
and never worked well to begin with, couple that with oil heating/water and it's a headache.

to be fair, I'm still using the portable ac a fair bit as it might not be hot, but it's felt humid a lot these past 3 weeks or so.

counting the days, i'm looking forward to a decent system.

In the interests of getting (or attempting to get) best bang for buck, I am proposing a multi condenser system

I have five bedrooms to cool and a 55sqm lounge/kitchen/dining room.

It's unlikely the bedrooms and lounge will need cooling at the same time so I'm thinking of using the same external unit to cool all spaces. At most it'll be lounge plus one bedroom at same time. Or all bedrooms but not the lounge.

One guy came and is proposing this:

Thoughts on proposal and price?

Might be a bit steep on the 5units element.

I've got 4no 2.5kw & 1no 5kw mitsubishi zen internal units
2no 7kw external units again mitsubishi units . £8k.

East Anglia if it's any use. Local chap with a long reputation of decent installs.

Even the local big company we're only another 1.5k for mitsubishi heavy industry, but they took it over my cash budget
