Go to your Carbon trading website and check for the basics:

Are they promising big returns?

Is this the next big thing?

Are they telling you the potential market is billions?

Do they cite comments made by famously wealthy people?

Does their contact page contain just a blind form or full and proper contact details?

Are they regulated within the UK by the FSA?


My guess is the answers will be pretty much as follows:
