I am in the middle of considering moving jobs, and going from 2 p/t posts (basic hours 22.5, plus over time) to 1 f/t (37.5hrs) But obviously I have to make sure that this is financially fees-able (due to weekly child care costs)

I have had a look on the governments tax credit website (do I qualify) and whilst working out what I would be entitled to and comparing it to my current entitlements, I noticed a dramatic cut (~75%) in tax credit payments for my current income.

At present I earn less than 10k and have one child, and was lead to believe from all the publicity that my current working/child tax credit would not be effected come April 2011, or is this not true and am I in for a huge shock?

Or is the gov website not working properly at the moment?

Thanks in advance

Edit to add

I am also a single mother, with no live in partner (not sure how much a difference this makes?)

Just thought...will the figures on the Gov website be what is left to pay out until April 2011?

If so, panic over and application is a go! l
